ITM Technical Difficulties & Update
Just a quick blog update. Actually, two:
1) Late last week I somehow lost all my subscribers. I use Google’s Feedburner utility which allows folks to subscribe, emails the posts daily to subscribers, and manages those subscriptions. Somehow, all 4500 subscribers got wiped away last week. I’m trying to figure it out, but for now that means no daily blog updates are reaching anyone. I have, at the moment, no idea how to remedy this, but I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
2) I’ve got a crazy busy – and very exciting – week coming. This Tuesday and Wednesday I’ll be on the campus of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia to continue the conversations we’ve been having about the leadership role I may play there. I am very much looking forward to meeting with faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the Board of that fine school. Thursday I travel to St. Paul to work with some excellent colleagues on planning out the future of some of the endeavors I’ve been involved in there. Friday and Saturday morning I am with the good people of the St. Paul Synod at their annual Assembly. Saturday afternoon is the Baccalaureate service for the Luther Seminary class of 2014, and Sunday is graduation, when I’ve been invited to offer the Commencement address for a class that is like no other that I’ve taught. Then, just for fun, all next week is our Festival of Homiletics in Minneapolis, where 2000 or so preachers will gather for a week of inspiration and fellowship.
So…given both the technical difficulties “…In the Meantime” is experiencing and the full to overflowing cup of events I’m tending, I am going to take a break from blogging. I hope it’s for just a week. We’ll see. In the meantime – what a great saying, don’t you think? – I wish you a deep awareness of God’s presence and blessing.
Yours in Christ,
David
David, prayers are ascending! Look forward to seeing you at the Festival. Bless you!
Peter
David, you’re such a slacker! 🙂 Blessings on all your endeavors. You have opportunity to reach a lot of people this week!
Thanks David.
Hope it all goes well. All the best and God bless.
Amen, may God bless you and your endeavors. Regarding the lost subscribers list, back when I was a computer programmer I had a sign that said “To err is human, to really foul things up takes a computer!”
I now know congratulations are in order. I can only wonder what will happen to this blog which I so much enjoy reading, not to mention your offerings on workingpreacher.com. So often you provided inspiration when I was ‘stuck.’ Both are selfish, of course. So, congratulations. The Philadelphia campus has gained a superb prize and will thrive under your leadership.
Really miss your devotions. I’ve been attending St. Michael this past year and was hoping to meet you. I know you are busy and blessed that you are.
Hope you start writing again soon.
Congratulations on presidency of seminary.
